Rain predicted

Played on a Saturday for £27.Thunderstorms were expected so the course was very quiet.
Fairways greens and tee boxes were all excellent. All the staff were very pleasant and food was fairly priced

Well presented municiple

A well presented tree lined parkland course, subtle elevation changes. Course appeared in good nick, despite heavy rainfall a couple of days before. Light drizzle made the course a little less pleasant, bit of a cold wind. However the course belies first impressions and was well signed, a pleasant walk nothing too difficult although you might benefit from a return visit when the sun shines. Hospitality a feature, food did take a bit of time to arrive. Adequate parking, and easy to find. Some good long par 3s and if memory serves each hole was subtly different. Long walk to 18th tee, a strangely configured hole. All in all a course that is a fair challenge.

well maintained council golf course, worth a visit

Stockwood park is a reasonable challenge with several long par 4,s to test your driving. The fairways were a little bare in places and need a good spell of rain.
Greens were true and on the whole in good condition. enjoyable day with friendly staff and pleasant surroundings if you can ignore the motorway noise,

Stockwood park

I really enjoy this course, have played 4 times now. expansive fairways which are good for the high handicappers but also some good challenges. Played today in wet conditions and the greens were quite saturated but still playable.

Great little course...

Played here with John Barber in May 2020 and had a great day!

Parkland course, with easy layout and wide fairways. We played on a windy day but didn't spoil our fun.

As a council course, it's never going to be Wentworth and yes the greens were fluffy, BUT I just really enjoyed the walk.

Lots of twists and turns, beautiful mature trees and some superb Par 3's

Will definitely go back here!

Excellent for a municipal

Has been a few years since my last visit and it has got better. Never was bad before, but there appears to be more care being put in. Tee boxes evidently do put Luton Hoo to shame at twice the price and across the road. Fairways are well maintained, bunkers have real sand in them(!) but have bunnies digging them up. Greens are in fantastic condition and are running very true.

Main drawback with the course will arrive around six weeks time when the schools break up and the little oiks come out to play, but if you get up early enough they should be no problem.

The club house only cooks until 2pm and shut around 7pm.

All in all a nice round at a good price on a well maintained course.

Very good course and good value for money

In excellent condition for a public course, especially given the usage (very busy even on a Tuesday.
Terrible service in the bar afterwards which was a shame.

Decent enough easy course

This is the perfect course if you want a cheap round of golf that is not very taxing and you want to practice a specific aspect of your game, ideal for a society as well

I was playing in a golf day of bacon baps then nine hole Texas scramble, sausage and chips for lunch then team points competition in afternoon, the whole day was pretty seamless and the course was being well used.

The greens were a bit hard but other than that it was in fine fettle.

Just a bit too easy!
