Hidden gem

What a lovely little course. I had overlooked this as its not a full length course, but it really is worth a visit, it has a 9 hole main course with reasonable length par 4s one par 5 and a couple of nice par 3s set in tree lined rolling land. The 7th and 8th are cracking holes that would be welcomed on any course.
It also has a 9 hole Badgers par 3 course that really is worth the trip on its own, every hole is iset in its own land with elevated tees ponds and some tight tree lined fairways. The greens may not be sunningdale standard but are reasonable but a bit slower than the norm. But for £13 for a day ticket is very good value and lovely food and ice cold beer afterwards

It’s the sort of course to practise your approach shots, short game.

Mature tree line sort parkland 9 hole course with tight fairways, pond water hazards and fairway bunkers. So course management comes into play with an easy walk.
Bunkers were hard. Some tee boxes were a bit poor. Overall the course was in good nick.
I would think in the height of summer the ground would be very hard.
Practise putting chipping green and some ball cleaners. No driving nets. Friendly staff, no pro shop, paid over the bar.
The “Value for money” is base on a £5 twilight (Aug 2014) £16 for a weekend a bit dear (one/two star) to many internet deals are around.
It’s the sort of course to practise your approach shots, short game.
So I would go back for this.

Terrific value.

Popped in on the way home from work. Special August prices for 18 holes, £10 anytime, after 3pm twilight £5.
Course in good nick generally, fairways need some rain as some bounces are interesting.
Shall be taking advantage of these offers and will post games for 4pm starts on Fridays.

Great little course with high standard greens.

Maybe not the longest 9 hole course but every hole presents a challenge in some way. Well placed bunkers and ponds add to the overall well laid out course which has some great views too. The greens are well prepared and maintained, shame some people can't be bothered to repair pitch marks or rake bunkers! Excellent value for money - especially the twilight fee.

Bunsey Downs Golf Course Review

Bunsey is an all round player ability golf course. The Main nine have good par 4 and 5 holes, and the par 3 Badgers course can be either fun or annoying when you just don't get it right! Plenty of water and tree llines fairways to test the best players out there.

WELL WORTH THE EFFORT TO FIND.

The main course is a delight, well established, very well maintained, it is a good test of your all round game. Water comes into play on several holes as does the gently undulating terrain. The clubhouse and facilities are superb for a nine hole course.
As a terrific addition you can also play Badgers par 3 course. This comprises 9 full size par 3 holes in a very scenic, challenging setting. Todays Golfer rated it one of the best they have played.
