Nice course

Have started playing here again after a long lay off and found the course to still be in very good condition for the price you pay. Great value for money. I paid £15 midweek.

Beautiful views and a Course Management Challenge

I played here twice this Autumn and really enjoyed both days. There are some beautiful views, enhanced by vibrant colours at this time of year. I found this to be a very well maintained course with excellent greens, good large teeing areas and well defined fairways.

My second visit was recently after a heavy storm, so the course was slightly damp in places, with a number of temporary greens having been prepared, although not in use when we played. It may be that it does not play as well in the wet.

On the right day, a good score will be possible here as there are a lot of scoring opportunities on the shorter holes. But challenges lie in wait, with three Par 4's that are virtually unreachable in two for all but the longest players. The Par 3's are all interestingly different, where a 'par' will always be an acceptable score.

The fifth hole, 448yard Par 5 (yellow tee) deserves a special mention as one of the strangest golf holes I have ever seen. A sign warns against using a driver and suggests a 5 to 9 iron from the tee. Heed the advice..... this course is one where course management will pay dividends to your score.....

The final hole is a real challenge, with a ditch to lay up short of from the tee and then two large bunkers to negotiate before the sloping green is found. A 'par' will always be a good score here and a satisfying finish to an enjoyable round.

I can't help thinking the clubhouse is missing something. Upstairs there is a large room with stunning views across the course, but it needs some friendly staff and a food menu..... sadly lacking on my two visits. Two members we spoke to were very friendly, however and suggested alternate places to eat.

This is a course I will look forward to playing again.....

Interesting course

Very dry, given the wet winter we've had, so there was a surprising amount of run.

Greens were a little bit bobbly, but apart from that, I thoroughly enjoyed playing the course. Quite a few holes make you think, with some interestingly placed ponds, a few ditches, and some well placed bunkers (which I spent far too much time in!).

A couple of lovely par 3's around the turn, and the 1st is a great drive over a valley.

Would thoroughly recommend it, and hope to play there again.

Great course

Anyone playing Bushey Hall is in for a treat. Lots of pretty holes, and all of them in wonderful condition.

It's not the longest course in the world, but it makes you work for your pars. From the 441 yard par 4 1st, you soon learn that you're not going to get many flat fairway lies. You do get very playable greens though.

Memorable holes? The par 5 5th, where drivers are usually kept in the bag, and two pretty par 3's at 9 and 10.

Nice course, fair challenge

This is a nice course, with a good balance of flattering and challenging holes and, especially when the sun shines, a very nice way to wile away a few hours. Rough not too penal, greens the right side of interesting and the course in general well maintained. Lovely to sit outside between the bar and the putting green after a round. Looking forward to playing here again.

Great course

Very nice golf course, great par 3's, very interesting par 4's (one par 4 is longer than one of the par 5's). Lots of bunkers and a bit of water. Good club house and changing rooms, nice pro shop just before the 1st tee. No range but has nets and putting green. Would play again. Very enjoyable game of golf.

Very English course

Open parkland course with some cross over holes. Fairways, bunkers & greens were in good condition. Undulating greens, some guarded by water & bunkers with very good par 3's. A good test. Practise chipping green, putting green, driving nets. Excellent club house. I will be coming back.

Worth visit

Quite a challenging course. Not a lot of room between tees, & greens on quite a few holes so keep your eyes peeled for stray balls! Having said this I would still play there again.

Would benefit from local knowledge

Nicely appointed and well presented, this is an undulating course, a fair number of slopes make for an interesting challenge.

Course has a few interchanges so watch out for tee shots from other holes, quite a tight and twisty course with a fair % of wide open fairways. Most of the par 3s offer a challenge subtley different, and there are some good feature holes (Hole 9 for example). Hole 5 is one to master, decision-making here is paramount...

As part of a fair sized TSG group we were held up at times by a members matchplay compeition, perhaps something to be avoided for any subsequent visit(s).

I'd like to see this course again in full bloom I can imagine it would be a picture. Tricky if you attack it but play conservatively and you may just have a good game...

Bushey

Short track with some quirky holes. A bit hilly but not too tough to walk. Good value but I wouldn't rush back.

Good Course, Great Value

Played Bushey Hall on Bank Holiday Monday, went through all 4 seasons during the round with sun, strong wind, rain & hailstones.

Course was in good nick and has plenty of different style holes providing a decent challenge.

Although website states £25 a round, we were only charged £15 making it extremely good value.

Thirty miles from home but I'd definately return
