Petersfield Golf Club, located in the Hampshire countryside near the South Downs, offers a scenic and challenging 18-hole, par-72 course stretching over 6,437 yards. The course is laid out across gently rolling parkland with picturesque views of the surrounding hills, and its tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and fast, well-maintained greens create a testing yet enjoyable experience for golfers. An enjoyable and challenging parkland course!

Petersfield GC, is a parkland style course located in Liss, Hampshire!

It is a members club!

*****
The club was founded in 1892, initially as a 9 holer, later extended to 18 holes in 1962! Sir Henry Cotton designed the new layout!

*****

The course is a par 72 off the white and blue tees, par 71 off the yellow tees, and par 72 off the ladies red tees! The SSS's are 71, 69, 69 and 72 respectively!

The yardages are 6,437, 6,004, 5,913 and 5,424!

*****
The 4 par 3s are a mix of very short, medium and moderately long tee shots, 2 moderately uphillers and 2 downhillers!

I double bogeyed the 3rd but parred the other 3! An excellent outcome for this compartment of the game!

The greens are....

My total putts for the round was 32, ie 5 singles, 12 doubles and 1 triple! Very good but I'd like to have eliminated the triple on the 1st par 3 played!

*****
Weekday visitors green fees are £42.50 up to 1pm, £37.50 between 1pm and 4pm, members guest rate £27.50, or £32.50 with a County Card!

A TSG 4 ball with Pitter and the 2 Smith's! £??!

*****
The clubhouse is a modern two storey building, with the bar, dining room and lounge on the 1st floor! There is an external balcony surrounding the clubhouse with 360° panoramic views!

Petersfield Trial Week

A group of eight of us trundled over to play Petersfield on one of their trial offers and I must say what a pleasure it was to play. It has a mix of holes that are testing and not easily read from the tees.

It makes you think a lot this course as the holes are not always as they seem, but in a really good way as it was a delight to walk around this very kept and well looked after course. The greens were immaculate, the scenery is one of the best in Hamphshire plus its a full workout with some steep hills to challenge those leg muscles.

Thoroughly enjoyed the day and looking forward to going back!!

PETERSFIELD GC

Played as part of a "Taster Week" - £12.50 each. There are plenty of interesting holes, with a variety of undulations and dog legs. 9-13 are weaker though - open and featureless. Greens were good and rarely flat so very challenging. Plenty of bunkers which whilst in good condition I struggled to get out of! Excellent prectice facilities and a good welcome from the pro shop. Well worth a visit if a discounted green fee can be found.
