Not good this time of the year.

Third time I have played here this year and have to say I was disappointed. No mention of winter tees prior to playing, they were too small and uneven, fairways are leaf ridden so hard to find balls once they enter, bunkers are pretty much unplayable so for £28 it wasn’t value. It won’t put me off playing here again but they need to take into account the state of the course when they are setting their prices. 1/5 rating

Cheshunt, okay and good value

Although flat, a course that has different types of holes, good mix, not the worse, not the best, will I play here again, yes I will.

Better than some private courses

Its 6238 yards off the yellows a mature tree lined parkland course with an easy undulating fairway walk, dogleg holes, fairway bunkers, lateral ditches & water hazards(some hidden) therefore course management comes?
The greens were true & undulating fairways were all in very good condition, some private clubs would jealous. Sadly the bunkers were very hard or had freshly laid sand. Ball cleaner on the tees some were broken. There was several long par 4’s.So if you’re a short hitter like me you will struggle to get there in 2.
With driving range, driving nets in rundown condition & practises putting chipping green, driving range& halfway house snack bar.
Pro Shop was non-existent with friendly staff.
Overall a very good course will definitely play it again and worth a visit.
We paid £15 Sunday @ 11 o’clock through Play More Golf great valve.
Overall a very good municipal course better than some private courses, will definitely play again and worth a visit.

Play This Course and you will return.

One of the very best Public courses I have played, better than many Private courses in the Essex Hertfordshire area, A good test for all levels of Golfer, where accuracy rather than distance off many tees is rewarded. Greens in excellent condition fast and true running, will definitely go back again and again.

Lovely course

First time at Cheshunt, really enjoyed it. Lovely fairways, greens are carpetlike, some nice challenges but overall a nice course for the mid to high handicapper. Low handicappers should slaughter this course. Will definitely be back again.

Playing well

Just a brief note for this council run course, we have used this venue as an Epping Bandits goto course usually at short notice and the quality of course has been improving over time. Be aware though that in a drive to cut down in inappropriate dress, the tee-off marshall is being stricter than in the past, so jeans/t-shirts are out (good thing too) but cargo/combat style trousers and shorts are also now excluded - Now we all have to at least 'dress the part' and this is a good course with a nice selection of challenging holes and an opportunity to score well from time to time...

A great walking course and clubhouse also prohibits the wearing of golf shoes in the bar - no bad thing...

Snowy Cheshunt in April

Good value for money course that was in extremely good condition given the appalling weather in the UK for the last few months. Even playing the round in snow did not dampen the spirits of our group.

Looking forward to going back.

very acceptable golf course

Ok I'll start by saying I haven't made 36 points round here before so it does challenge you. due to the weather some of the tee positions are a bit off, but despite the weather the course was in decent condition. Greens a bit 2 or 3 paced, but again blame the weather
A nice course to play and the chips are yummy in the clubhouse

Very Picturesque Parkland Plubic Course

Cheshunt is set amongst very mature trees, near the Cheshunt Country Park.

Very well kept, good layout, easy to follow directions, not difficult to walk, lots of nice scenery around, today the ducks and the pheasants enjoyed the rain, but we (the 3 of us) did not really but it did not stop our game as we were doing some good shots (some of us were).

Some wide fairways but hazards well placed to make golf a bit of a challenge, the "Blasted Oak" (Hole 4), is a magnet for the little white ball, water on quite a few holes in the form of ponds, streams or ditches with thick, very thick grass, some interesting dog legs.

Not a very long course giving a chance to get a good score when you get to know the course. This was my 2nd visit.

Today it was wet, and quite a lot of paddles so I expect that winter play is not so pleasant.

The greens are very good indeed, fairly easy to read so that help the scoring, obviously today the vast part of the game was under the rain, heavy at times.

The bunkers were a little wet and compacted, but I like the design, as most of them have grassy mounds (banks) making it even more challenging to reach the greens.

Hole 3 (par 3) is over 200 yards, the sweet 17th (par 3) is only 115 yards but well guarded.

Looks like a well attended Golf Club, saw a few Seniors (from either Mars or Venus) and Juniors, Clubhouse (and its terrace) looks good but did not go in as too wet and wanted to get home quickly knowing that the M25 would have heavy traffic.... but the journey home was not too bad.

Nice practice putting green

Friendly staff around.

Very reasonable rates.

There is evidence of Roman settlement in this area and a big Park for family, dog walking, picnic (dont forget the picnic blanket and the wine!!!).

A nice course, not too difficult and worth a try, must be very enjoyable on a warm sunny day.

Bright day in October

Almost perfect playing conditions, course was well presented, greens seemed true enough, and a nice roll on all the fairways made for a good day out.

Not too busy so an unhurried round of golf was possible. Still a good challenge and keeping on the fairways as a good strategy, careful reading of the greens gave opportunities to single putt (even from distance). A good course, well worth the visit and no doubt we will be back...

Saturday - Social

This is a course that requires thinking around... always something to capture your attention, watch out for the crows as they have been trained to open zippers and steal stuff from Golf Bags. It seems that all the hazards are perfectly placed to be in play for most golfers, so take care on all shots...

Some tricky par 3s - nice use of ditches/sand to make life interesting. Course was in OK nick, still wet from the previous day's deluge and the grass cuttings were still evident...

Got around in good time - despite it being a public course at the weekend (we followed a society...)

Also take time to enjoy the views...

Good course I have been back since...

All in all, pretty good....

Not played here before but took a look at TSG reveiews and decided to give it a go. The course is council run but dont let this put you off. Parkland in layout, its mature and reasonably well kept and I've played on worse greens at private clubs. There are plenty of interesting and longish holes for all levels of golfer with no two holes looking the same. The clubhouse itself is a little scruffy but I would happily return - good value too at £18 after 1pm on Sat!

Better than I remembered...

Played Cheshunt today and found the course in good condition. First time here for about 6 years and the layout etc was better than I remembered.

Good value @£18. I believe its cheaper later in the day as well. Only downside was the two members infront who for the first nine holes played 2 balls each which is obviously out of order and delayed our game.

Will definately return, especially as its only 10 mins drive from work

Intresting course.Tight in places. Greens excellent as were the tees. Fairways a bit bare but due to the lack of rain this is understandable.Certainly worth playing.Would have played it again next week but was a bit rammed out due to a club comp

twilight round at cheshunt park golf course

the course today was wet but the greens were in good shape.
the cousre in general is good for beginners like me, with it wide fairways(well least to me).
the cost of the round was £9 and felt that this was good value(twilight round from 1pm until the end of march).
i would love to play this course during the spring and summer months to see what it like with leaves on the trees. which would add colour to the course
