we had a deal

Gary Edwards organised the game and i understand he got a half price deal, so for £20 its an excellent course, really good condition with some really challenging holes. But if the full price is £40 a round, that would be too much....

Very Good Test of Golf AND Stamina!

This club, opened in 1995, has a large modern clubhouse with a pleasant patio area and a friendly atmosphere. Before our round, a member, on hearing us say that we'd not played here before, was happy to offer advice. He said we were in for a 'treat' with the greens - but "keep your ball below the hole" and also warned us about the rough.

The first hole finishes steeply downhill, giving an indication of what to expect here, but remember that sometime you have to go back uphill!

Some narrow fairways, well-placed ponds, bunkers and hedges make accurate tee shots essential, so a driver may not always be the best option. 2 or 3 holes could be almost driveable on the right day, but that warning about the rough should be heeded - it can be very penal.

The course is very well maintained throughout and a pleasure to play. The fast greens are as good as I've experienced, but subtle borrows make them difficult to read and - yes, downhill putts can get away from you!

This was the hottest day of the year so far (25.07) but mature trees and wooded areas provide shade - just take plenty of water and consider hiring a buggy if fitness is not to 'Olympic' standard!

Really enjoyed the course. The greens are tougher than they look!! Putting was tricky to say the least. Also the holes are not straight forward. I strongly suggest not taking the driver on every hole. Position is the Key. Hole 9 and 10 are reachable from the tee, which i managed to achieve!!!! All in all a great course and beautifully kept.
