Great course . . .tough at times!!

Played here last night and thoroughly enjoyed the Course. Some really tough holes with no space for error!!. Greens were immaculate. Best I’ve played on recently. I was a guest of Golf Travel Centre so FOC on the green fee. So well looked after. Nice beer to finish off the round. Great setting and a very jovial and friendly club. Will definately be bac.

A Hidden Gem

The course is fairly routine until you arrive at hole 7, then it becomes a proper challenge! Greens good and true and the course is very well kept. Love to play it again.

Another good course in Croydon

Very pleasantly surprised. Having lived 10 minutes away for the past 10 years finally got to play Shirley Park last week. And very nice course it is too. Beautiful holes, really well kept. You might need to get to know it before you play it well as there are a few holes where local knowledge really would help, but don't let that put you off.

Nice friendly clubhouse too, don't let the fact it's in the heart of Croydon put you off.

Better than expected

After reading some other reviews, I was not expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised. There were a good mix of holes, with a variety of challenges, and the course was holding up very well. Far less muddy than some others played over the past couple of months. Some of the bunkers were a bit stoney, but had enough sand in them. The greens had been recently hollow tined, but were recovering, and in a lot of instances were very quick. A halfway hut, where you could get hot drink and snacks. I would definitely play here again, and useful to have played it once, as a few blind tee shots to catch you out. Friendly pro shop and busy bar, and generally a good day out, apart from some of my golf!

Not bad but needs some improvements

An open course which can be quite dangerous for those wayward hitters!
An incredibly beautiful Par 3 brings up the course review. A daunting hole for anyone to play!
