Wildwood Country Club is very peaceful, very natural looking golf course with a lovely barn type clubhouse situated in Surrey.
Played there last April on a warm sunny Spring day when every tree or plant or flower look very fresh.
The 3 loops offers a choice of Parkland ,Woodland and Lakes. We played the 1st two, and water does come into play even if the names do not suggest so.
Fairways were wide but trees, bushes and rough can make a difficult round if you stray.
2 favourites holes:
Parkland 7th, a long, very sharp dog leg to the left Par 5. A ditch with water feeding the lakes on either side. The longest route is probably the safest here. Green is fairly large with a bunker on the left to catch the ones who dare cutting across.
If I remember the greens were interesting as some were tiered and ondulated.
Woodland 3rd, a short Par 3 over a large lake and a public footpath on the left.
Warm and friendly reception in the Proshop, members very amicable too.
Large, full of natural light Clubhouse, with bar upstairs overlooking the courses and miles of surrounding Surrey countryside. A large outside terrace with wooden balcony, very pleasant place to savour the 19th with lovely food on offer.
Practice facility, large car park and very pleasant Ladies changing room.
A course one should try due to the versatility of 3 courses on offers.
THE END......
