Very nice condition, especially the greens

Some fairly non- descript holes mixed with some really interesting holes around the various ponds and ditches. First time playing and will definitely go back. Fairly short of the yellows but Some tricky holes require good positional play. Greens very good indeed for Feb, although 6th and 8th very sloping, No chance to stop an approach put from above the hole, must be like crazy golf in the summer.

Nice layout, fair value would play again.

Interesting layout, many dogleg holes. A good blend of longish and shorter par 4’s.
Tees were a bit muddy, considering it’s been pretty dry. Although 17th Oct it won’t be long till the winter mats will be in play. greens were good, reasonably quick and rolled true.
Bunkers were awful, and really let the course down. Fortunately I didn’t go in one!
All in all £25 for bacon roll, coffee and round wasn’t bad value.

Upper (old) course. A good test of golf, some great holes.

The autumn leaves ( those not already on the floor) gave a splendid back drop to most holes. A good mix of short and longer par 4’s. Winter mats were in operation which significantly shortened some holes. They were also very variable in condition, some being very hard to get a tee in. Bunkers were pretty solid, some with rakes that no one seemed to be using, some with no rake. Overall good value for money at £17. I will be back!

A tough test! But in surprisingly good condition.

I played the course a lot in the late 80’s and early 90’s. probably in better condition now. Still a good test of golf. Needs precision off the tee on many holes. Greens were very lush, rolled true, receptive, but slow which is fine when you are used to them.
Overall pretty good value and worth a round, I’ll be back to hopefully make a better fist of it than today!

Great condition lots of interesting holes

Have heard a lot about toot hill and read many good reviews so was looking forward to playing it for the first time. I wasn't disappointed. Despite virtually constant rain all the way around the course was on great condition. Greens were fast and true despite the rain.Only down side was my 3 shots in one soggy bunker!!!!

Poor condition, despite lockdown.

Greens were OK, had been aerated and the holes hadn't recovered fully. Fairways were so long on many holes the semi rough was nearly as short or shorter than the fairway. Definitely possible to lose your ball on the fairway. Tees weren't too bad but some not very level. Rough very penal, anything off the semi was almost certainly a lost ball! Bunkers have been left to nature since lockdown, I didn't go in one but probably wouldn't even have tried to play out of one. Fairly cheap, but I am sure there are much better kept pay and play courses around!
