Description
Royal Ashdown Forest Golf Club, founded in 1888, is ranked by Golf World as one of the top 100 clubs in the British Isles. It has two 18 hole courses - the Old and the West. The Old course is used by the R&A as an Open Championship Regional Qualifying venue and also hosted the full international match between England and Spain in May 2007. The club welcomes visitors and societies and offers golfers the opportunity of playing its two courses, each with its own distinctive challenge, on the same day.

It was ok Royal Ashdown West Course

Just average, will I play it again - yes. Difficult to judge the course as there has been no rain for a long time, so I would like to play again when greener and in better condition. Overall the course had good scenery, if you go off the fairway, it’s tough and losing balls , not a lot though, but will happen. West Course was the cheaper than the Old Course, but not sure the difference in price for the Old Course is justified. It was ok.

ROYAL ASHDOWN

I have played on this course a number of itmes now and I would definitely recommend it - there are no bunkers!!!! Having said that and I don't think it is a particularly easy course and is challenging and makes you think. Give it a go!

west course

Im looking to play as much cheap golf as i can this summer and at royal ashdown forest i was not left disappointed.
£20 a round or half that with 2 for 1 vouchers, the guy in the pro shop couldn't have been more helpfull.
The west course measures up to 5500 yards from the white tees(no yellow tees) with quite a few challenging holes(18th being my pick of the best), greens not in the best shape as you suspect most of the budget is spent on the prestige old course.

Royal Ashdown & the West Course

I'm a member and play the West Course. This course has narrow fairways and you must be a straight hitter! Only 5600 yards but a good test of golfing skill as the greens are small.

The Royal is a great course. No bunkers but plenty of heather! The 11th (par 3 245 yards) is a fantastic golf hole to rival the very best.

Gets wet in the winter
