DESCRIPTION:

Ferndown Forest Golf Club, established in 1980, is located in Ferndown, Dorset, England, spanning 195 acres with a premier 18-hole parkland course. Designed by Tom Foulkes, the course features a par of 72 and is celebrated for its meticulously maintained fairways, mature trees, and strategically placed bunkers. A standout feature is the par-4 14th hole, which challenges golfers with its narrow fairway bordered by water hazards, requiring precision and strategic play for a successful approach to the green.

Situated near the historic Ferndown House and adjacent to the scenic Ferndown Forest, Ferndown Forest Golf Club is easily accessible via the A35 and A338, providing convenient connections from Bournemouth and surrounding areas. The course’s undulating terrain and natural water features offer a strategic challenge, while the picturesque views of local landmarks enhance the overall golfing experience. Ferndown Forest Golf Club remains a prestigious venue for enthusiasts seeking both competitive play and the tranquil beauty of Dorset’s countryside.

NEVER AGAIN!

This is the 125th course that I have played in my 20 years golfing and is unquestionably the worst - it is TERRIBLE. My playing partner summarised it as "tight and tatty" but I could not find anything as complimentary as that! The front 9 comprises a shade over 2000 yards and is so cramped that there are balls flying in all directions - hard hats should be issued. The course is poorly maintained although surprisingly the greens are ok. The one plus point - it only takes 2.5 hours to get round - please don't risk it though.
