Well worth a visit

Ash Valley Golf Club is tucked away a few miles west of Bishops Stortford in the attractive and surprisingly hilly east Hertfordshire countryside. There is a quaint but welcoming clubhouse cum café and a modest driving range. Despite there only being three par 5’s, there are a lot of long par 4’s, which makes this a relatively challenging course (well, at least for 18+ handicappers).
The green fees are very reasonable and on a fine and sunny autumn day this was a very enjoyable outing in a very picturesque setting. Definitely worth adding to your list of courses to play in the A10/M11 corridor.

Challenging long course

Not the best maintained but impressed with the length and difficulty of some holes. Definitely not a carrying course unless you are super fit. Greens were sufficient, fairways and rough all well maintained. Definitely playing here again.

Far better than expected

Parkland course, quite hilly, very open in places, long 6500 yards off the yellows. Paid 25 quid before 12 on a Saturday so good value, quaint small clubhouse with friendly staff and surprising good menu choice. Would happily return and play again.

Decent Course,

Ash Valley in the heart of Hertfordshire.
Fantastic views over the sweeping countryside.
Open your shoulders and swing the driver. But stay on the fairway.
Rough is brutal and ankle deep, finding the ball can be difficult.
Greens, hard fast and small. You need to be good to stop them.
Good hilly course. Designed to keep us fit and healthy.
Craic was good and topped of with a decent cold beer on a hot afternoon.
Will sleep tonight

Ash Valley Golf Club

Good test, hilly course, pretty wide fairways, slightly inconsistant greens but very good value for money especially twilight (after 4) at £8.50
