Great Course, Recommend Highly

Wide Fairways, Several driveable Par 4s nd reachable par 5s means can reward aggressive play, however the rough, just off the fairway is very penal. Greens very good. Course slightly brown due to recent hot weather

Superb Kent Course

This was the second time I've played Kings hill, 6 pars after 8 holes I was going along nicely. But the back nine is a bit of a brute. This is a long parkland course which has a links feel. The fairways are narrow, if you miss them your going to be lucky to score. The greens are firm but true, not overly fast. The club house and staff are very friendly and the food is first class. I paid £40 for a society day with a buggy share, this included Ham Egg and chips. If your going to walk be warned this is a long course!

little gem at West Malling

Kings Hill is a little gem that is not on the radar.
Its a course that you want to revisit and although there are no wow holes each hole make you think out your shots.
The members say it is a great winter and it drains well and does not get wet.

Superb Golf Course - Very Well Maintained !!

I booked my round at Kings Hill through Teeofftimes.co.uk and got it for £24 on their "Hot Deals", so glad I did. Even though the night before was raining, the course was in superb condition. It's true what they say that it's a good draining course, there wasn't any standing water at all, not even in the bunkers. No temporary tees or greens and along with the fairways, they were all in excellent order. All staff were very helpful and friendly and to top it all off, the hot chocolate, after the game, was the best I've ever had, worth going there for that alone !! I will definitely be back in the Summer :-)

Great course and well worth a visit

Kings Hill is on an old WWII Battle of Britain Spitfire airfield - the wind sock still flies! A very well looked after course with superb greens, great fairways and wonderful views. I played in a social competition that cost £45 included bacon role on arrival, three course meal, and a round of golf. Definitely worth a visit.

Nice & Beautiful Course

The green is very good and it seem to be quite busy in the morning as member play here regularly. It took me 1 hour to travel from Walthamstow, so not bad for a day golfing.
Some part is hilly but most of the time it is flat.

Beautiful course - recommended

I played the course in an inter-club vets match between Kings Hill and Cherry Lodge.

From the yellow tees it is a 6,328 yards par 72 course, comprising the usual mix of 4 par 3s; 10 par 4s and 4 par 5s. The course is not long with most of the par 4s being less than 400 yards. The par 4 18th is the one very long hole. The negative side, or the course defence; is that the rough is very long in places and quite penal. There are also some tricky carries (bunkers or trees) to negotiate expecially for the medium length hitters on the drive. The course fairways and greens are in excellent condition; the greens being medium to large in size with many undulations to negotiate. All of the par 3s were beautiful challenges.

Hospitality at the club was excellent; not surprising perhaps as I was playing a club match. However, I was able to get an excellent pre-match breakfast. I hope to play this course again sometime soon. I can't give a proper vfm assessment as I didn't pay a green fee but only our usual match fee which covers our post-match meal.

Great course, especially in winter

Played Kings Hill GC on 3rd January. It had been closed for most of December because of snow but was in great condition.

Kings Hill Golf Club is set out on what had been the West Malling WWII Air field. The land is sandy and so drains well meaning they don't have temporary tees or greens. The course is only closed by snow or severe frost.

The pro is really friendly and the bar staff the same so you'll always get a warm welcome.

The course is long and offers some good challenging holes (5 holes around the 500 yard mark). My only criticism would be that, although there are severl good holes, there is not one which stands out as a 'signature' hole. But that aside, I'd thoroughly recommend a visit.

Kings Hill

The course was in very good condition, especially considering the recent weather we've had. The course is very open, probably due to the age, and the front 9 are a lot more interesting then the back 9. Overall, it was ok, but not really memorable.

Neat and Tidy Kingshill

I played the course after a few weeks of very wintery weather including snow and rain, and to the credit of the staff at Kingshill the only signs were a few waterlogged bunkers. The course was very well drained and played very firmly.

I would say the course is very much in the vein of the surroundings; very nicely built, neat and tidy but a somewhat clinical feel. Some of the holes are very close together (2, 7 & 8 in particular) and I can imagine on a busy day it could be very off putting.

I will definately go back to Kingshill but I won't be rushing.

Kings hill 18 holes

Nice course which is good for winter play as fast draining, very US in design, An open course with generous fairways and none penal rough.

course just "lacks" something, all four of us mentioned this fact.
there is no signature hole, no water or ditches, a lot of the holes feel and look very much the same.
basically there seems no character to the course.

Excellent challenge to any level of golfer

I used to be a member of Kings Hill and so have played the course many times. It's laid out on the famous WWII West Malling Airfield of Fighter Command (now covered in high quality housing and business park). The clubhouse is very good with everything you'd expect (only criticism would be the lack of a decnet balcony overlooking the huge double green (9th & 18th). The course is always excellently maintained and, whilst seemingly open, the rough can cause big problems. One of the major attractions is that, being laid out on sandy soil, they don't have temporary tees or greens - the course is either open or closed (and rarely closed). Whilst an interesting course, the only disappointment is that the design didn't bring the man-made reservoirs into play (they are set to the side of teh course). Other than that, a club well worth a visit.
