Exceptional Course, Great Staff, A Must Visit

The whole golf course is set within a deer park, so there are plenty of opportunities to play a shot Whilst the deer walk beside you. 6 par 3s all provide a different challenge, whether that be length, descent, ascent, bunkers or water hazards. Every hole Is very different from any other and there are plenty of opportunities to attack the course but be prepared to be punished if you’re wayward. Waist length bracken line the fairways from 1-5 and 15-18, whilst ancient ant hills wait beside the fairways of 6-14. There are 6 tees to choose from so the course can play as long or short as you want, however from the white, green and black tees, prepare for some blind drives over bracken covered hills, 499 yard par 4s, dog legs that turn 90 degrees right at 300 yards from the tee and a 230 yard carry to the fairway.

The 19th is equally as good as the previous 18 and the staff at the bar are very welcoming, friendly and professional. The fire pit in the bar is very pleasant in the winter and the large patio overlooking the first tee and 18tg green equally pleasant in the summer.

The new practice area includes a grass range, 3 tiered putting green, 2 tiered chipping green, 2 practice bunkers and a further putting green in front of the patio.

The only downside with the course at Knole is that it is very much an out and back course, with holes 9&10 the furthest from the clubhouse.

Green fees are fairly steep with no twilight tees, however members guests rates are a bargain for a course of this quality. Grab a member or find a visiting society to join!!

Hidden Gem.....

Came across this course after a friend recommended it and I wasn't disappointed! The course itself is situated amongst 1000+ acres of parkland and is well maintained...some might say preserved!

The Clubhouse is steeped in history having been established in 1924 and you could easily loose a few hours just absorbing the winners board and the trophies that have been won and lost in that time. The course layout twists and turns through undulating ground with some raised tees and some challenging holes but above all it is the atmosphere that should be enjoyed. Deer roam on the course and there are some very mature trees and views to enjoy along the way. The greens are in good shape too considering the rain we had in April and the fairways are clean and tidy, which you would expect from a members course.

There is a great viewing lounge over-looking the 18th, where you can relax and enjoy the views and the 'Fish & Chips' Friday menu was excellent. We were very warmly welcomed by the Pro shop and staff and I would highly recommend giving this course a try, as you could easily be forgiven for thinking you had travelled back in time to the 1920's.

It may be argued that the green fees are a little high at £45 Mon-Thu, £50 on Fri and £55 at weekends but if you can afford it, give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

Great Course

This course has a special place in my heart as my father was a captain of Sevenoaks Town G.C. (attached to Knole) many years ago.

The greens are simple superb - fast and true. County Card day rate for the summer was £27 (last year) - what a steal !

Your in Sam King country here (ex Ryder Cup player) and the current Pro and staff are carrying on a great tradition. One of my favorite courses which although testing is very fair and a challenge for all grades of golfer, apart from total beginners.

Club House staff can't help you enough and the food is reasonably priced. Great par 3 to start and a very testing par 4 to finish - in between the rest is pretty good too !

A hidden gem that was the first golfing home of Michael McLean and a must to visit - enjoy.

A great course (a favourite)

Played Knowle Park under the Open Fairways scheme (so 50% off green fees - meaning £20 to play a great course).

Being in the middle of Knowle Park there are literally hundreds of deer roaming across the course. This, whilst a little strange to see, adds to the fabulous setting of the course (one of my favourites).

The course is perhaps a little hilly for some people but it makes for an interesting challenge (no two holes are the same) and the whole course, from tee to green, was in great condition.

Finally, everyone (from the professional in the shop to the people in the bar) were friendly and welcoming.

Better course of back tees

Played Knole Park quite a few times and if you can play off the back tees it's a different course. Some of the par 4's become very challenging and its a great finish with a blind tee shot to get in position for your second shot to the 18th.

Clubhouse is very 'old school' but staff are friendly and food is good!

All in all a great course in a magical setting.
