Lovely course

Lingfield is a lovely golf course nice varied holes not super difficult for you better golfers, but there is still danger very much enjoyed it and the greens were lovely even after all the rain we have had, and for 25 quid for 18 I would definitely recommend it.

Lingfield, do visit for a great golfing track

Thought nothing of playing here before until a last at Royal Ashdown said it was a good course, tough but enjoyable. So glad I came, on my list now of regular courses to play, great value. Be warned, this has tight fairways, depending on your game balls will get lost, so plot your way round. I absolutely loved this course, one f my favourites now.

terrible state

the greens were being "harrowdised" at the time of playing, but it looked like someone had drove a tractor of sand and just dumped it onto every greens, no sweeping in or the likes had been done just spiking I think they were just preying for rain to wash it in, you needed to chip any putt over 20 feet, the tees hadn't been cut for at least a fortnight. in fact it looked like every green keeper had gone on holiday for two weeks. considering this is a resort course they should be ashamed. it is a tight little course that takes some playing but for the time being avoid it.

GREAT GOLF COURSE & HOTEL, LOVED IT !!

We stayed here for a two night golf break, on a Sunday & Monday night in June and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable and well stocked, the buffet breakfast, plentiful and the inclusive 3 course dinner was varied and very tasty. The golf course itself was in top condition, even though it rained, on & off, the whole time we were there. All the staff were very pleasant and accommodating even to the point where they opened up the clubhouse upstairs, after hours, so we could have a few games of pool. The health club was also superb, gym, pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, ice shower and as many treatments, at extra cost, as you could throw a stick at. The only one down side was that the drinks were a bit pricey, two pints of lager, a pint of bitter and a large diet coke came to £17.95, but that didn't spoil our enjoyment of a great golf break !!

Pros and cons

As a winter course, this really wasn't holding up very well, as it was incredibly muddy and a few of the fairways were waterlogged. Lot of bunkers were GUR, as they should have been, as a lot were being worked on. On a positive note, the greens weren't too bad, and in some cases running quite fast, and I really liked the layout. Would definitely go back in the summer, as a lot of nice holes. The service in the clubhouse was probably the worst I'd experienced though, due mainly to the only guy on the bar being on his first day and totally clueless. Though why that should affect the ridiculously slow kitchen service, doesn't really make sense? Expensive food and drink as well as a Marriot, so be warned! But we only paid £20 for 18 holes, and a very late bacon roll and coffee, so that was a really good deal.

Nice little course

Nice course, all holes fairly interesting, and testing. Some tight, some open. Well worth a visit, but don't play as badly as me! I would certainly like to go back and try it again.

Nice to return....

This is the course I started my Adult golfing career on, so it was nice to return after about 14 years and I could just about remember most of it! A parkland course, it is tight in places and you need to pick your spots if you are going avoid trouble. Some nice Par 3's around the place too and fun to cross the Horse Racing track on your way round the back nine. Great views and friendly clubhouse...will return but maybe not leave it so long next time! :-)

Lingfield Park Bites

Very tight in places, need to be straight and don't get out the big guns if you're a long hitter.
