Worth a visit

This is a fun course. Not as easy as it looks. Fast greens and like most places, some bunkers could do with sand. Not a problem if you can manage to stay out of them. There are quite a few surrounding some greens.

We had breakfast beforehand. Buffet style for staying guests but you can pay to eat like we did. Fantastic service from waiting staff and the facilities are superb.

We had after round drinks out on the lawn like Lords and Ladies of the manor. Tranquil breeze to chill after hot days round. Ideal place for society stay away.

Reasonably priced and well worth a visit.

Wow!

I can't believe it took me so long to play here, possibly one of the most beautiful courses I've played with it's wide sweeping fairways and immaculate greens it really should be on everyone's list of courses to play.

good course layout to enjoy, worth playing

This is a lovely course set in very nice surroundings.
got a 1 for clubhouse/hospitality, because there is no clubhouse, but pro shop staff friendly.
got a 3 for quality of course as the recent v dry hot weather has burnt the course and the greens a little too firm.
got a 1 for practice facilities, as there is a v small putting green which is heavily sloped and doesn't help you for your round v much, and the driving range is all down hill and not nice to look at.
Worst moment on the course, was hitting a 280+ yard drive drawing it off of the bunker in the middle of the fairway, only for my playing partner to hit 30 yards passed me less than a minute later, there is nothing fair about golf is there. Great Drive Robin
The course itself is pretty good if you do not mind courses that have much sloping, there are some excellently placed bunkers protecting this short course.
The greens were a tad hard, so some work on the greens to make them a little more ball friendly wouldn't go amiss.

With money spent on it, I think this could be developed into a wonderful golf course, especially if the owners incorporate the hotel with the course and update/improve the points made above.

play this course when it hasn't been burnt by the summer sunshine, and you will enjoy it very much as it will test you at times despite being a short course. But use a powered trolley it is very hilly

Great course

Waited a while to play this course, and my Social Golfer playing partner got green fee for £10. Apparently you can buy 18 rounds for £180. If you live nearby, it is a bargain.

No real "clubhouse" as such. It is attached to the beautiful hotel complex. Check out the website, the hotel looks amazing. Back to golf . . There is a driving range. Never checked if there was a putting green.

Great course layout, undulating and many elevated greens. Good mixture of holes. Fairways, greens all excellent.

Worth the trip to play this one.

Looking good

Played Selsdon last week and it was in fantastic condition. Lots of green keepers working on the course and it was a real pleasure to play it in that condition. Really hope they keep it up.
Real good mix of holes too.

As its part of a hotel the bar is the hotel bar so do get someone else to pay for the drinks!!

Good, but could be a lot better.

A challenging course with a number of raised greens resulting in many holes playing long, especially on a wet morning. Not much run on fairways and the greens were disappointing, lacking in care. However, there are some stunning holes and tremendous views. Played it in a society on a Sunday for £25, but can get cheaper price midweek.

Great course, you can get some better deals if you can play in the week etc

Due to how far you park from the club shop (the hotel is the club house as such) there was a little confusion making our way to the course. Now I know it won't be an issue and you can park closer if you know where to. I do now.

The club shop has everything you really need and there is a little putting green right by the first tee, didn't see any nets etc.

The opening hole is a great par 5 to start you off nicely and it just gets better. Most of the fairways, if not all, are wide but even though I went in to the trees more often than not i didn't loose many balls today. Clearly it costs you a shot to get out but could have been worse.

There was a lot of raised greens but this is probably due to it being a very hilly course. I did walk it but I think a buggy would be advisable to us oldies.

At the top of the course the wind made it more challenging but every hole was very enjoyable. I actually think I have a new favourite.

You can get some good deals on this course but I only played £25 as it was and I think this was an ok price it but knowing you can get it cheaper if you can play at friendlier times I have put the value down slightly to reflect my experience on the day. The buggy cost my mate £25 as well so not the cheapest but I would get one next time.

Greens where in good nick, the fairways are well kept and I can't think of anything really to be negative about. I really can't wait to play this again and get my score down.

Te score card gives you the daily pin position guide which I haven't seen before, or certainly not noticed. This doesn't help me as I just aim for the green and hope, regardless of where the flag is, but you better players would no doubt find this useful.

Lovely course, awful parking.

Selsden Park is a lovely place to play golf, with a good mix of holes to keep you entertained. If you're wayward then the course will punish you with long grass in the rough, but generally the fairways will provide you with a reasonably accommodating target.

The greens were in excellent condition, and I got caught out by a few that went the opposite way that I was expecting.

It's certainly not a flat course, but there are some lovely views from a number of the holes which kinda makes up for it.

My only issues with Selsdon Park are a) it's hard to spot the 150yd markers (yellow disc in middle of fairway), and b) finding a space to park your car. There is a sign to the golf parking, but that was a little misleading and I ended up driving out the other side.

Overall Good - hard work for walkers though

CGS vs WEDGES we played the 2009 Ryderless Cup challenge match, over two days last year. Course was well maintained, challenging and interesting from 1st tol ast - I can't recall a hole without a feature, I found lots of traps and trees and water on day 1 but improved a lot on day 2 (probably a result of taking a buggy).

Hotel accommodation was excellent, food was OK, we had to negotiate to keep the bars open but it was a good overall impression.

Good course

I really enjoyed this course, very wide and very long holes. The course is quite demanding on the legs if your carrying your clubs, although the view of Kent and Sussex is quite breathtaking.

A good test.......

I guess you know you're in for a good day when once you've struck your first shot....the course is long and undulating but well laid out. The raised tee boxes are great to play off and there is plenty to test everyone. The course is very well maintained with good greens and the friendly Pro shop adds to the experience. Will definitely be going back!

Selsdon Park

Testing course with fast greens many elevated. Bunkers deliberately had grass growing in them to give them a more natural feel (but difficult)
Club house - whilst there are good showers and changing facilities the hotel bar is expensive
