just needed some water

I could imagine that this course had it not looked so bare on the fairways etc could be fantastic
on arrival the pro shop staff couldn't do enough for you

The views all around the course and the Villa's were stunning off season we paid 150 euros for 18 holes would highly recommend a visit though

San Lorenzo, one of Vilamoura's best

My rating of San Lorenzo is certainly based on my personal experience because I knew it was a great, interesting and challenging course, but I also knew that it was likely to be a slow round.

As it transpired, I can confirm that it is a fantastic couse, superbly maintained and with friendly and professional staff which is of course well worth playing, but our round was just over 4 hours, unheard of I here you say. Read on...

We arrived at about 11am for a 12:40 tee time and the first tee was empty! Fantastic. Could we go off early, No because they have a two tee start in the morning and we had to wait for the people who had started on the 10th to come through the 1st before we could start.

As 12:00 approached more and more golfers arrived ready for their tee time, but still we waited for the people who had started off the 10th...

By 12:30 there were perhaps 20 angry golfers on the 1st tee still waiting for the stragglers of the 10th tee starters to come through. The starter was getting a lot of grief so instead of adding to it we politely asked if there were other options. He looked at us, turned and walked off, returned a minute or so later, pushed through the melee to get to us and said 'please go to the 10th tee the starter is waiting for you'.

Off we rushed to the 10th leaving the growing crowd of other golfers still waiting, teed off and didn't see another golfer for 14 holes. Fantastic.

Had we been forced to wait our turn on the 1st my review would no-doubt have been different...
