Course in good Nick bit dry in places wish staff great as usual / driving range 1st why I why is it not the same on the course !!

Haven't played here for over a year. Course still in good condition. Greens are great. Bunkers lack of sand. Only complaint I have about this course and this applies to last year as well, they over book the tee times. So course is crowded. It seems they don't allow a big enough gap between groups. So you end up waiting around a lot on the tee.

Good condition, nice views, for a links course there’s some good variety. A tough challenge for all levels. Greens were great, and I will be playing this quite often. Really enjoyed it.

First time I have played Pedham place, interesting course with a few challenging holes, enjoyed the course very much. Well worth trying, and good value for money.

Well I'd played the par three course at Pedham but never played on the 18 hole. I was so surprised at how dry the course was after days of torrential rain. Lots of dog legs, leave many blind shots into the greens. A lot of the time I was not sure which way to aim. The fairways were in great condition, the greens did not run true and were very hard to read, for me they let the course down. The course is very open and the wind changes from hole to hole. A lot of the holes are heavily banked on either side.
there's not one tree on the course but you can't really describe it as a links? The club house is very welcoming, and the full breakfast was good value. The buggy was a bit pricey at £25 but all in all I would definitely go back, especially as this course hardly ever closes due to wet weather. A bit more work with the greens and this could be a cracking course!

One of the nicest courses are played on recently. The greens are excellent. The Fairways are excellent. Can't wait to go back

I have played the course a few times before but on Tuesday most definitely the most enjoyable game with the weather and no wind. Course was in good condition although some greens were recently sanded. Green fee was reasonable at £17.50 for a 10.00 tee off.

Considering the amount of rain we have had of late, this course was holding up well. It rained for about half of our round, but luckily never heavily. The wind blew pretty much throughout though, and is this courses main defence, as was proved by the 200yd par 3, into a 2+ club wind!!!!! Surprisingly enough, none of us made the green. The greens were good for the time of year, and the 2 bunkers I went in had good amounts of sand. Going back for a society game, and glad I played before, as there are a lot of blind shots, as previously mentioned.

If you have two and a half hours but want to play 18 holes of proper golf, then try the par-3 course here....

It's only 9 holes but there are 2 (sometimes very) different tees on each.

Length varies from 84 to 186 yards with an average of 125 yards. There was a bit of wind when we played and we used everything from sand-wedge to 3-wood. All the holes are presented well with an attractive layout, well-trimmed fringes and generous first-cut but very punishing rough if you do go astray.

Decent greens and proper bunkers (if variably raked) complete the challenge. Two 14-handicappers made more bogeys than pars and only a few birdies over 18 holes, but came in for lunch after our 2 circuits feeling we'd had a pretty good outing. You can also take a buggy if you want. We need more of these courses.

If you can allow yourself the freedom of not playing a driver for the day, you'll really enjoy a round here.

£14/16 for 18 holes is probably fair: you will play one fewer shot per hole than you'd play on a full-length course, if you think about it.

Pedham has a huge car park and a decent enough club house. The breakfast was good and well priced. There is also a driving range. The main course is an aquired taste due to numerous dog legs and blind shots. Although I do not agree in principle with the title "inland links", I do find Pedham very good fun to go around. The fairways are generally in good nick and the greens true, although a little slow. The course was in fine condition. Couldn't tell you about the bunkers as I disn't find myself in one. It is a little pricey at the weekends but if you manage to play here when there is sunshine and little wind, you will not be disappointed and you should post a half decent score. I look forward to going back.

Pedham Place golf course is an unexpetecd discovery. first the location is very easy to get to from the M25 J3, vast car park, very attractive clubbouse mirroring the local Kent oast houses and it is an inland links type course which gives the golfer an ability to score well should the ball remain on the fairways, difficult task with the wind. I shall certainly not venture to play there in the wet/windy wintery day like some other TSGers did!

Lots of doglegs, blind shots, undulations everywhere,so plenty of below/above feet shots, side hill/uphill shots. It is an advantage to know the course, also the course planner is not entirely up to date, no mention of it in the Proshop where the reception is luke warm. No equipment or clothes on sale, only the most basic golf sundries.

An excellent but long walk between the holes, well sign posted, sometimes hard climbs and when you are the top of the hills, the views are quite spectacular. Thames estuary in the distance & Tilburry, I think. I remember a very large poppy field in the distance: stunning! (I think it was from hole 7).

Lots of bunkers with adequate sand, some tricky Par 3 with low stroke indexes. This is one course where the Stroke index is the same for the Red or Yellow irrespective of the Par. Some very long Par 5. Water comes into play at the 18th, a small pond negotiate.

Pleasant outside seating area in a sort of a courtyard, that is attractive. Coffee ok, tea much better, lovely Victoria sponge cake which Judy L. could not resist to sample. Very fat chips sampled by Ian M.

An Epping Bandits posting, well attended on a lovely sunny but breezy day, prize money for the highest scores and there were lots of very good scores. Well done to the winners. I did not take many photos and the one I took were a little rush, I may post 1 or 2.



THE END...

The clubhouse is small and basic, but nicely laid out.

The dining area is a lovely light area to sit in.

Breakfast was a little disappointing, as some of it was cold and there was bread and butter instead of toast or fried bread.

The ladies changing rooms have two toilets, one with a door missing.

The course should have been shut the day we played. The bunkers were full of water and the fairways were awash with puddles and rivers. The greens were surprisingly dry and fast, which made up for it Let's hope the course wasn't too much damaged. The course is massively challenging and I would love to play it in dry conditions. Lots of blind holes, very exciting! Play methodically and you can score well.

Signage on the course could be better, as there are some long walks between the earlier holes. Luckily, we had someone in our group who knew the way.

Great bar food and good value for money.

Absolutely awful conditions, but very easy to see this would be a great course to play regularly. Very welcoming clubhouse and good practice facilities in the complex, including a modern driving range.

The course itself has a number of unusual features - quite a few holes are tight to OOB and there are a number of holes where tee or second shots are blind. Countering this, the majority of holes are links-like, without just a right or wrong way to play them but with a variety of options and the blind shots are often a reflection of how well the course has been designed to fit into the landscape. I'm not normally a fan of holes with dog-legs that force you to play longer shots into the pin than their preceding shots, but Pedham Place gets away with it. Great greens too - even in lousy conditions they were firm, true, interestingly undulating and a mix of sizes and shapes.

Inland links with some very tricky greens, undulating albeit a tad slow. A lot of blind shots and doglegs,and in my opinion would need to have played it before or with someone who has to score well. Don't go offline further than the second cut or you are in trouble. Nice new clubhouse with friendly attentive staff. Look forward to returning

A great 9 hole course with superbly kept greens. Challenging with lots of bunkers and very good value.

Pedham Place has far too many blind shots for me to enjoy,still each to there own, the course was in good condition and the greens are still fair to good
i would play it again but not for a while ;-)

I have played Pedham a few times the Course is an inland Links some people slate it but i think the Course is a great challenge playing against the elements
They are starting to spend some serious Money up there so hopefully with the New clubhouse and No porta-cabins it will make a big difference.
But then again for 20 odd quid or 2 for 1 vouchers you get what you pay for.
Best bit about the Bar is the Blond behind it.

This course was a pleasant surprise. Considering the proximity of the M25 & M20 motorways you are not bombarded with traffic noise. The course has the majority of holes dug out of the hill and the fairways & greens are of a high standard. When you get views of the surrounding area all you can see are fields stretching for miles.
You will need to invest in a strokesaver book (£3.50) when playing for the first time as you can easily get lost and the majority of the Par 4's & 5's you cannot see the green from the tee. Make sure you have lots of balls because if you hit into the long grass you will never find it.
Clubhouse is a bit on the primitive side (Portakabins) but the satff are friendly and helpful.

£12 for a twilight round and 13 holes played, fantastic value.
