Colne Valley Golf Course. superb!!!!!!!!

This is one of my local courses but have never played here. First impressions lovely clubhouse, a warm welcome from the staff and a beautiful view from the terrace of the 9th and 18th holes as they share a very large undulating green. To the 1st Par 5. lovely opening hole. Then the course winds round the valley with tree lined fairways, beautiful. A few holes are a bit tight off the tee but that adds to the courses appeal. Some wide fairways giving you a chance to give it the big heave ho with the driver. Water comes into play on several holes with the River Colne running thru at the bottom of the valley. The whole course was in excellent condition, especially the greens. You have to ask yourself why are all greens not as good as these are at Earls Colne. I got an internet deal of £40 for a fourball, dont know how! I recommend you have a game here, even if you play it only once you will not be disappointed.

Worth a visit

I was invited to Millbrook GC by a former work colleague to play in a charity event for Keech, a hospice for adults and children. We were greeted with a smiling face at registration, always a good start to the day. Then we headed for the buffet breakfast, very nice indeed. We proceeded to the first tee, a dogleg par 5 only 445 yards, your thinking that's an easy start however as we came to the corner for our second shots there is massive dip in the fairway, so with over 200 yards to go i decided to lay up in the dip. Your third shot is then a blind shot up to the top of the hill, thank goodness they have added a cart track as this is a steep climb up to the green, not my favorite start to a round. The course then winds through the trees, with some elevations to negotiate. The course on the whole is very laid out however there are some very quirky holes, especially the 1st,9th and the 11th(known locally as cardiac hill). The course then runs along the side of the main A road, This was very busy thus being rather noisy. To sum up, the course was in excellent condition, no complaints from any of my playing partners, The greens have undulations in them that you just cannot see, beware. A very good test for all handicaps. My one piece of advise is, get a buggy, you will enjoy your round a lot better. A great day out, its definately worth playing.

The website address for the charity is www.keech.org.

Happy Golfing and Vive le TSG.

Lovely course, well worth a visit

Morning All, North Downs is a little gem of a course, not long but you need to keep it in play, which suits my game. Some holes are a bit quirky but that adds to the experience. The par 3 9 th was my favourite. Fantastic views, some tricky greens to hit and putt on, food at the clubhouse was some of the best I've eaten, bacon roolls to die for. All in all a fantastic day out. I will definitely return to North Downs golf club

Lexden Wood, not one ill be returning to.

Clubhouse and hospitality all good, course is a pay and play, which shows, divets on the fairways and pitch marks on every green not repaired, on some of the holes it looks like the pins have not been moved for months. I was told this is a good course, thats why a gave it a go. Sorry guys but i will not be going back to this course, there are plenty of better courses available in the area.

Nizels, A real gem in the Kent countryside

I heard good reports about Nizels and upon arriving i was not disappointed. Lovely setting with stunning views across the Kent countryside. The clubhouse overlooks the 18th green a nice place to relax on the terrace after your round. A well laid out course cut into the valley, some of the holes are a bit of a climb upto the greens but once you get to the top the views are beautiful. The fairways are of excellent standard, the greens due to the warm weather were rather slick, you could easily 3 putt. Overall this course is a real gem, if you get the chance to play here, you will not be disappointed.

The Belfry, Brabazon Course

What can i say, what a beautiful laid out course, every hole is different from the last. Tight cut fairways, tree lined, bunkers well placed for the wayward shot and lots of water in all the wrong places for me. I didnt shoot a good round but came away thinking, wow what a course and the facilities are second to none. A great day and a thank you to my playing partners Daryl, Brian and David for making one i will probably never forget.

Fantastic Golf Club.

Gog Magog is truly a golfers heaven on earth, I played the Wandlebury in November and the Old Course in mid December and could not believe how good condition both courses were in, a credit to the ground staff. I would recommend you find the time to treat yourself to a day out at this fantastic Golf Club.

Excellent Layout, shame about the quantity of bunkers!

You have to ask yourself why so many bunkers? otherwise an excellent course. Really nice course to walk round and very much enjoyed the whole day.

Malton Golf Club

After a warm reception from staff and other club members it looked like the rain may stay away and it did until the 17th.
Clubhouse, very nice surroundings with the golf shop inside the clubhouse.
Practice facilities, well the practice putting green was not good. But never mind, to the first tee. Par 4 dogleg right, got to the corner ok, passed a couple of fairway bunkers with little or no sand at all in them.
chipped on to the first green, ball bounced every which way it could eventually coming to a halt, the green was in terrible condition, i tried to putt out, but the ball just kept bouncing its way towards the hole.
That was much of the course badly maintained in my opinion.
I would not recommend this course to anyone SORRY.
