Great course well worth a visit

Piltdown is a course with a difference no bunkers no water but lots of heather which protects the course,The fairways are generous but a wayward shot and you will be looking for your ball in the heather. Several of the holes need a good drive just to find the fairway, the par threes are all challenging my favorite the 4th 182 yds from the yellows the last 50 yds is all heather right across and up to the edge of the green. a course that i would recommend if you are in this neck of the woods. The greens were excellent. the only disappointment was the kitchen closes at 2.30 so could not get any food

Wow condition

Played here yesterday after hearing good things about the course, and was not disappointed. I played here 2 years ago ,and was disappointed so had not rushed back. At around this time they got a new green keeper and what a difference this guy has made, Fairways superb, nice first cut of rough and the second cut a reasonable length, but OMG the greens were unbelievable not a pitch mark, weed, or bare patch to be found on any of the greens, and believe me I really looked.
I play quite a few course around Sussex Surrey & Kent and can honestly say I have never seen a golf course as good as this anywhere and that includes Celtic Manor. So if you are looking for somewhere that will be a memorable experience give this course a try.

Fantastic course

a parkland course very hilly and some long walks between holes unless you are super fit take a buggy, that said it was a great experience to play such a course both fairways and greens were perfect deep deep bunkers around some of the greens so unless you bunker play is good steer, clear

great views nice course

I found Lewes a very friendly course everyone made us feel welcome, the course was in good condition for this time of year, I did feel that lack of directional markers to the next tee, it was easy to play the wrong Hole, Also there are a number of footpaths that cross the course so you have to be aware of walkers. Played it on a very windy day , but will defiantly go back and play it again in the summer

Well worth a visit some great views

This is a lovely course that is maintained to a high standard. Not many bunkers but one hell of a lot of heather,if your first time here suggest you buy a course guide as on some holes the heather is not visible and is right across the fairway in places. The greens were very fast and hard to read. All in all I would say that this is not a course for the high handicappers, Nice club house and a very friendly pro shop that is well stocked.

Well worth a visit

Chartham Park is a great course as it has a great number of different holes, Dog legs,Water,Trees and well placed bunkers. You need to keep your thinking cap on all the way round. the course was in great condition the green were quick but run true. all in all a good course to go and play. cost £25 mid week

Nice downland course

Eastbourne royal is a real test of your golfing skills The Front nine is very tough Par 37 three of the hardest holes in the first four holes, Back nine par33 and an easier walk not so hilly as the first nine. This club is very expensive in my opinion, using open fair ways (2for1) it was still £30 pp and did not feel that this course warranted that sort of cost

Course in great condition

Cooden is a great seaside course not your normal links course.

It is somewhere between a parkland course and a links course.

I played it again in the evening, when there was very little wind off the sea, which made it a real pleasure to play.

The cost at £23 for a twilight round was a bit expensive, but it's still a course that I will go back and play again and again.

The Clubhouse and pro shop were very helpful and friendly.

A think your way round type course

Nice course, need to think your way round and leave the driver at home, a lot of dog legs, greens well protected by bunkers and narrow entry's very good value for money play a t/light at £12. will pay it another visit as its well worth it.

Short but fun

Although a short course you do need to think your way around it, A course that will suit all levels of golfers.
On the whole the course was in good condition, but some of the tees were poorly maintained.
The food was excellent although a little expensive

played here in a charity game what a great course.the course has everything you could wish for par three over water or guarded by trees and bunkers, long par fours with bunkers in all the right place's (or in my case the wrong place's)The course itself was in excellent condition the greens were of a nice even pace. all in all if I lived nearer it would be the course I would join. the club house is part of the hotel, well stocked pro shop

Lovely course, no facilities !

The facilities are very poor, they consist of a driving net in the car park, no pro shop to browse if you want something they get it from around the back.and two small putting areas. What a shame! as the course is excellent a test for any levels of handicap. Tree lined fairways very well maintained the greens are a real test of your putting skills, very quick and a lot of hidden burrows. If only the facilities were better this could become one of my favourite course's

Super Friendly...

A super friendly club every one made us very welcome.

The course was in super condition, the greens were quite quick for this time of the year.

Being very close to the sea if you happen to catch the course on a windy day it will play havoc with your scoring, but on a nice sunny wind free day there is no better links course to go and play.
