nice course

small club house but a very warm welcome from the staff. Has a small driving range and bunker and chipping area. As it has been so hot the fairways are very hard with very little green grass..
the course is not long but it is very quirky course, with hidden ditches short par fours that you have to be in the right place. definitely would go back and play it again and again.

ok not fanatstic

we played here Wednesday 19th September. Won a charity day and paid £60 for a 4 ball.
We played the New course. Fairways are till recovering from the summer and are very bare in places.
The greens were very slick and quick and you need to putt well to have a good score. It was a very windy day so some of the par 4`s into the wind were very long.
So the question is would I go back? NO. It was a bland course with no holes that really stood out at all. I would never pay £90 to play here or to buy 5 coffees and 5 bacon roles that was nearly £40.

good course a must to play

lucky enough to play here with a member for £30.
The course is mainly tree lined with lots of Heather for your ball to go in.
A well maintained course looks very pretty to play.Tee boxes were better than some greens I have played on.
Greens were superb and very true with lots of borrows on them as well.
If you get the chance play here.

great weekend

we played here over a weekend. So it was a good deal for the golf etc.
Good rooms and good food and a bar that stays open late.
Golf courses were good even with the amount of rain we have had.
Both courses offer different challenges for all standards.
Practice facilities are good in fact it was good all round

looks better on the website

Played both courses over 2 days. The flyover on the website made it look fantastic.
In reality its very poor. Fairways are poor no definition, greens were slow and bumpy, bunkers were poor with weeds growing in them. The hotel is ok but very dated.
Would I go back NO.
Would I stay for a golf weekend NO.
It has plenty of promise but needs some attention.

nice course

played here with Dave Holmes who is thinking of joining the club.
A flat course with no real defining holes that stand out but it has 2 long holes a par 4 of 470 yds off the whites and a par 3 of 240 yds.
The greens were good even with the frost on them, the tee boxes were excellent and you could define the fairway and rough. It looks as if it would be a pretty course to play in the summer with all the trees out.
It is a fair course long but if you are straight you can score well. A bit of road noise on a couple of holes.
Nice club house with lots of tradition which is nice to see.
Would I play here again yes I would.

nice course

When you drive into Mill ride you know it`s going to be good. The practice facilities look good, nice pro-shop and for £25 a good price. long course off the yellows for us standard golfers. So what to expect on this course. Water, water and water but not on all holes. Fast greens with suttle borrows if you are not putting well a good score disappears. Well looked after course nice holes with a halfway hut, it was closed when we played but it looked as if it is well used for competitions. I played badly but it is a course that you need to be on the fairways to have any chance of hitting the greens. would I play there again, definitely and a nice club house to have that drink and re-count those missed shots.

lovely course with great views

Getting to the course is a bit tight up a very winding road, but when you get to the club house it all opens up. A small driving range and a putting area with a chipping area to. Nice club house with very nice staff,a very helpful pro-shop to.
The course winds up and down the south downs with views over to seaford and also Ringmer.
Lots of short par 4`s but don't be put off by this as they are mostly blind shots or downhill shots to a small green. Lots of times the ball is below your feet so you need to be good at this.
Accuracy is a real benefit.
The greens were good not to fast but not slow. some of the greens have tiers so getting on the right level is important.
Nice course and would definitely play here again.

nice course

hard to find but when you do it is well worth it. The greens looked quick but were not but they had borrows that you could not see. So putting has to be good to get a good score.
Some nice holes a nice par 5 to start with. overall I would definitely come back and play again.

BLOODY BRILLIANT

As soon as you drive in you know your going to get quality.
Firstly Steve Holloway got us a fantastic deal of £15.
Everything looks tidy and clean.
Tee boxes were great, flat well cut no patches.
Fairways were lush and ran well even with the rain we have had.
Greens were fast but true.
Bunkers were full of sand and nice.
A well layed out course even though the first six are all par 4`s they all play differently.
Halfway hut and toilets out on the course.
Clubhouse was clean and tidy and smelt soooo clean.
Would I return: YES YES YES.

poor course needs love and attention

New club house and that looks really nice but it goes down hill from there.
1) Tee boxes: Now that's the first thing us golfers use and all the tee boxes were either poorly kept uneven, bare of grass and generally poor.
2) Bunkers: Although I did not go in many the ones I did go in were poor,no sand or no rakes.
3) Greens: very patchy on all greens, looked poorly maintained and they did not run true at all. 1 putt from my playing partner got to the hole and shot off 90 degrees!!!
4)They have obviously been working on the woods around the course. Plenty of tree`s were cut down and were left in there place. So if going into the woods there was no chance of finding your ball and when you did it was impossible to play. We then found out from the guy on the till AFTER the game that there was a local rule saying you could get a free drop. So nice of them to tell us.
Would I go back: NO.

looks good and plays well

First time here and was very impressed. The pro-shop was well stocked, good car park, and plenty of space to put bags ets. We played the West course and I must admit it was a very good course. With the sprinkler heads showing yardage to the green and 150 markers in the middle of the fairways it was easy to pick your clubs. The greens were excellent fast and true.
The front none seemed to play easier than the back, but that may have been the way I was playing. Overall I liked the course and the venue and would return.

ok thats all

I had heard a lot about this course so was expecting a little more than we got.
Poor fairways some under repair( we were not warned or had a reduction on price).
Greens were ok though.
It just felt a bit samey all the way round with straight par fours.
Not sure I would hurry back at that price.

edingburgh course wonderful

Well what can you say, lucky enough to play the Edingburgh course with Anna and Dave sunday.
When you stand on the first tee it is absolutely fantastic. Fairways are like carpets, greens are quick true and wonderful, Scenery is fantastic, there is nothing not to like about this course. Every hoe has a charm and a look even a bog standard par 4 straight down. If you get a chance play it it is worth the walk alone.

long walk nice course.

After negotiating the winding roads to get there what a beauty. The first hole a straight forward par 4 and you think yea its ok.Then you walk through the wood and the course opens up.Runs around a valley so you dont really run up and down holes.Long par 4"s,well positioned bunkers, very wispy rough.Overall i liked this course would definetley come and play again,Also the breakfast was good to.

new course but!!!!!!!!

When you arrive its just a portakabin,i know they have applied for planning but there could be plans etc to show what they are doing.Coffee is £1 and you only get half a cup.No practice area or putting green. So the course,Tee boxes poor, not cleaned up,untidy uneven long grass.Fairways poor, hard to see when you are on or off.
Greens, they are slow, not really maintained that well although they do run true.
After all that the layout is good for a new course, the back nine is much more interesting. It could be a good course, but it needs some tender loving care to entice people to spend there £25 at the weekend.
Would i go back, not sure it would have to have some decent reviews before.

short but tricky

Played here at the weekend.Great value £26.50 with a breakfast.{well done Daniel} Starts with a 216 yard up hill par 3 into the wind.mmmmm.
Anyway its like a links course, very undulating, very few bunkers, short par 4s,but very very tricky greens,If you can putt well then you will score well.God knows what its like in the summer.
A few holes a very tight and cross over fairways/grenns.Overall a good day, nice people in the club house, would definetely come back.Hopefully putt well.

Had a winter deal of golf and meal went for the breakfast bloody fantastic, much btter tha the golf.
The course is long and very testing, with lots of narrow fairways surrounded by trees,oh and water in all the wrong places!!
Overall well worth playing normal green fees are £28 so still godd value for he variety of holes etc.

parkwood

Nice course,£29 after 11am.Greens fast and were very good.Fairways well looked after, long so you need to be hitting the ball well off the tee.
Grumpy guy in the pro shop tho.
Food looked good and value for what you got.
