Langdon Hills

Been playing here a lot lately and it's in really good condition, greens are superb, good speed and lots of slope and breaks. the par 3's are long and with tricky greens, yet to hit one in 4 rounds!
I hadn't played here before this summer, but I'm told it's improved a lot. Can highly recommend.

Highly Recommended!

Played all 3 nines in a day and i can honestly say it was one of the best parkland course I have ever played, The greens were the best i have played in many years, in this country. The club house was modern and well run. There is a hotel on site so would make a lovely weekend away venue. You must play it can't wait to go back.

terrible state

the greens were being "harrowdised" at the time of playing, but it looked like someone had drove a tractor of sand and just dumped it onto every greens, no sweeping in or the likes had been done just spiking I think they were just preying for rain to wash it in, you needed to chip any putt over 20 feet, the tees hadn't been cut for at least a fortnight. in fact it looked like every green keeper had gone on holiday for two weeks. considering this is a resort course they should be ashamed. it is a tight little course that takes some playing but for the time being avoid it.

Foxhills

This was my 3rd visit to Foxhills (Bernard Hunt)the last being in 2008, I remembered every hole on the back but nothing on the front, it has improved in its maturity and is a very nice layout the biggest draw back on the day was the greens which had been harrowed. The facilities are fantastic, just glad I didn't have to pay (Ā£95 each), the staff were very friendly, which is unusual for posh clubs. would recommend it but only as long as you can get a deal.

Hartswood tricky track

Having played it for the first time I found it tricky, as the trees play a big part in your positioning around the course, it needs playing a few times to know where to go also the green are small so making your approach shots difficult, its not long but the weather will make it a lot different. well worth a few rounds.

a lovely little course

ideal course for the high handicapper, somewhere good to practice on the course, for a good price, highly recommend. My 40 foot birdie putt rolled lovely on there nice greens as well, just need to spend some time on the bunkers, but then some players need to help them.

A Phoenix rising from the ashes

Played Brentwood yesterday for the first time in a couple of years and i'm pleased to say its nearly back to its best.
Apart from a couple of greens which are still recovering from a year of neglect. It's looking good. All the bunkers have fresh new sand in them. a couple are GUR but they are changing them to mounds. they have cut down lots of trees and undergrowth around the water features. all in all they are nearly there, a dry winter and next year it should be top notch. But i recommend you all to play it soon

The Burstead

a lovely little course, quite tight but playable, not to long. a few doglegs and blind spots, but after a few rounds i think you would be knowing where to place it.

The Vale

Superb facility its has every thing you could want of a resort course. Hotel and Food fantastic. the course gets a bit wet but after the weather we have had in the past few years what do you expect.its very easy to find as well just 5 minutes off the M4 with lots of signs.
The Valley is the easier course but still has a few long and tricky holes.
The National is tough with a lots of long carries over water but very playable, i can recommend it 100%

long and tough but very very good

loved it the first hole is a bit off putting but after that it becomes a really good tough challenge. the green's are slopey but fair and the water does come into play a bit. the par 3's are long and there are 5 par5's i would highly recommend it would jump at the chance to play there again

a lovely walk!

super course, but lots of hilly walking between greens and tees. and not many signs so got lost a bit.the clubhouse is beautiful and there are loads of practice facilities. would jump at the chance to play there again but i bet it would be very hard in the summer when the rough would be up and the green mega fast.

The Belfry...Brabazon

The Brabazon was the toughest course i have ever played the rough was long and thick and there is water everywhere on the front nine after the second.the golf were fast and true.
Got a par on the tenth which felt great and managed to hit a perfect drive at the last right next to Christy O,Connors plack on the fairway and managed to clear the other water in 3 managed to get a 6 which after the round i had had felt great. It was a fantastic experence to play one of the top ten course in the world. But i wouldn't recommend it to many golfers over a handicap of 18.the pro shop is out of this world like a supermarket for golfers and the hotel was very nice lots of celbrity watching also played the Derby which was a very average course which could do with a bit of watering.

Paul Langford

i have played Blakes several time and to be honest the greens were always fairly good but last Monday they were nearly all dead.i know we have not had much rain lately but they need to invest in some watering of the greens, also put some sand in the bunkers played one shot out of the greenside bunker front left of the ninth and pulled up the plastic liner underneath. this is not a rant just and observation the course is an inland links at its best dry but water the greens please
