Worth a visit

Played here with the Army and I was here a few years ago. Great course. Open enough to allow for errors and easy to correct. Some lovely holes across lakes on par 3s. Some very challenging holes. This course is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Nice clubhouse and friendly staff made for an enjoyable 2 days.

A new layout that needs time

Played here well before HS2 got involved and made them completely change the course layout. Brand new clubhouse which is superb and the staff are excellent.

First 5 holes are new and really open. The remaining 13 holes are all part of the old style course. It is a challenging course which has many twists and turns and some rally long par 4 holes . . But definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Worth a visit

Played here today in one of their Open events. Was first off at 0800 so arrived at 0715 expecting to be allowed into the clubhouse to get a cup of tea and a breakfast bap . . . Place was all closed up and was not opening until at least 0800!! That was a bit of a poor show . . .especially when they were trying to advertise the club on its Open Week.

However, set off on time and the course is a real gem and definitely worth a visit. Nice greens and wide open fairways in some places. You need to plot your way round as there are some blind holes which can catch you out. I think you need to play it at least 2 or 3 times to get a feeling for where to try and put your ball.

Over all the place was great and the course was in good condition . . .even though we played half the round in the pissing rain!!

Definitely be back to play it again . . .when it’s sunny and I can get a cup of tea prior to heading out on the course.

A great course

Played 3 rounds in 3 days here during the Infantry Championships. Course was in superb condition and once they cut and rolled the greens for the competition days they were like lighting!! A parkland course which you have to navigate and think your way round.

Staff in the clubhouse were great and very friendly.

I would definitely play this course if you were ever up in that area.

A cheap round . . But great value

Played here today with members from my military unit. Therefore we were given a “Blue Light” green fee - £15.00!! Can’t get any better than that.

The course was in decent shape - some of the tee boxes need attention and the greens were a bit bobbly, but otherwise the lads enjoyed it.

Nice friendly staff in the hotel which doubles up as the clubhouse.

Food was okay . . .

Overall a very good value you for money course which we will be back to play before the year is out.

Sister course of the Laguna

It sits next to its sister course, the Laguna, and they share the same clubhouse. Course in great condition and an enjoyable round.

Course in great condition - a lot of rain had fallen in the previous month which made the course lush and green all over. Looked in superb nick.

However the cost is very much on the rise. I fear that the courses on the Algarve are starting to out price themselves and a lot a golfers may look for cheaper alternatives.

Great course

Pinhal has really upped its game in terms of course management and service. The greens where some of the best we have played on and the remainder of the course was in superb condition. Friendly staff in a nice clubhouse. Enjoyed the beers afterwards. You have to manage your way round the course and not just hit a driver on every long hole. Lads really enjoyed playing this course and some said it was even better than the Old course which we played 2 days earlier.

However the cost of golf in Vilamoura is going through the roof in terms of green fees. It is expensive and when you add on 30 euros per person for a buggy you are talking near 180 euros per person a round.

But again with a tour company you get a better ate added in as part of the package.

Will definitely be back to play here again.

Great course . . . .a bit expensive

The Laguna course is the sister course to the Millenium. A great course and it has really come on leaps and bounds in the last few years. Nice clubhouse to sit outside and have a refreshing drink after the round. Super friendly staff look after you well. A bit expensive to be honest as it is about 160 euros a round without a buggy!! Always book it as part of a travel company package to get the best rate. Will be ack to pay it in a few years!!

Very tired looking!!!

Was looking forward to playing this course as never been on it before. So drove 40 minutes to get there which was fine. Parked up and went into the pro shop. This golf club is attached to a large hotel so many non playing guests are around. Paid my 55 euros for the round which was fairly cheap as I was playing with a society I am part of here on the Algarve. Went up stairs to get some breakfast and a coffee . . . .the clubhouse was closed . . This was at 1000 in the morning . . .not a good start. I had to sneak down into the hotel restaurant and pinch 2 coffees! Thinking back I should have fronted it out and grabbed a full breakfast instead and gave them some made up room number!!

So headed out on the course. It is not in the best condition. Very tired looking and a bit of a mess to be honest. The fairways were scorched and even the aprons in front of the greens were in bad order with that type of grass which is not compact but very spongy . . Your clubs just go right underneath your ball into the grass so a lot of duffed shots with no distance whatsoever. The greens were good as they were very receptive and your ball was getting plenty of check and stopping well.

It was in the high 30s as far as temperature went but we didn’t see a refreshment buggy once in the whole 4 and a bit hours we were out there.

The clubhouse was open when we got in for a much needed drink.

Overall I would not recommend this course at this present moment in time until it gets. The fairways sorted out and a good tidy up. There are far better courses on the Algarve that are in pristine condition compared to this one. Give it a miss.

Great place to play golf

First time visiting the East Sussex National complex. It is very impressive indeed. Played the West course which was in great condition. Some superb holes and a course that you have to manage your way round.
Really impressive clubhouse and had a great meal after the round.

You can some great deals at this course for dinner, B&B plus 2 rounds of golf for £125.00 in November. Well worth it.

Great course

Played in an individual stableford golf day hosted by this golf club. They where having a week long festival of golf and this day was part of it so the green fee was only £36.00 which included tea / coffee and breakfast bap before the round and the 18 holes of golf. I believe it is normally around £50/60 per round on its own.

A great course and a pleasure to play. Would love to go back and play it again as I think you need to play it twice to get the best out of it. Some cracking par 3 holes which are a real test.

I highly recommend playing this course if you get the chance.

Great test of golf!

I played here twice as they have 2 different courses - The Faldo and the O’Connor courses. Both are a real test of golf. Buggies included in the package and you really need them as some of the tees are a fair distance from the last green! Some great holes to play on both courses and some great views.
the clubhouse is great offering all sorts of food and drinks to cater for your groups.
Practice facilities are great with a driving range and numerous putting greens.
All in all a great place to spend a couple of days golfing. Plus the weather helps even though it was a tad windy which reflected the high gross scores!!

Great track . . .

Played here against the Defence Forces Ireland and I can say that this course is a real gem in Ireland. Really lush green fairways and superb greens. Long challenging holes amongst the 18 on show and some absolute diamond holes where you need to be at your very best to make a bogey never mind a par!!

Great clubhouse with everything you could ask for. Friendly staff who go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Definitely worth a visit if you are in that area.

Some spot!!

Returned to play at Foxhills after my initial round was rained off a few months ago. Managed to join 3 lads and make up a 4 ball. Course had just had the fairways sanded which meant some shots were being played with a large amount of sand under your ball. Made it a bit Micky Mouse at times. Otherwise the course we played - The Longcross - was great. Challenging holes and a bit tighter course than the other Bernard Hunt one. Had a good game with only a few mishaps on the way round.

Great practice facilities and a nice atmosphere in the clubhouse. It caters for the tennis club and also the health and fitness club. Busy place.

Maybe a bit pricey but I was using the voucher I won from The Social Golfer so I was quids in!!

May go back . . . . .if I can get a deal!!

Lots of water!!

Played Salgados a couple of times on a recent golf event with my military mates.

Nice clubhouse . . .couple of issues with the tee time on the first round but all okay on the second visit.

There is a lot of water . . .on about 16 of the 18 holes!! So you need to work your way round carefully and not blast a driver on every hole!! It is a challenge but a nice course down near the sea.

Was handy as it was only 10 minutes from our hotel so easy to get to.

Would come back and play it again.

Nice course . . .but in the middle of nowhere!!

Played Morgado whilst on a golfing week with my military lads.

It took us an hour to get there from our hotel and to be honest the course and its sister course, Alamos, are very remote indeed. They seem characterless and a funny atmosphere at them. Some nice views, and the clubhouse was okay but nothing spectacular.

The fairways were dry as a bone and completely scorched in places. I think they have no watering system in place and only water the greens and tee boxes to keep them green.

If this was not part of the golf package then I would not be rushing back here to play. Better courses in the area for similar money.

Great course

Played here on the 6th of October. It is a very hilly course but a definite must play if you are in the area.
Great clubhouse although I was told that it has reduced in size due to the upstairs being taken over to accommodate the wine growing project that is ongoing there.

Good course layout and I enjoyed playing it. Lovely views on some of the holes.

Greens were a little slow but was told that they had been hollow tynned recently . . They were really slow indeed compared to my own clubs greens.

Overall a great round on a great course. It was that good that I am back there tomorrow for another round . . .and this time at least I will know where I am going!!

Great track!!!

I played 3 rounds around Westport GC which is located just outside the town of Westport in County Mayo in the west of Ireland.
A superb course which is very demanding indeed. Lots of long holes which are a severe test . . .a par 5 stroke index 18 is a bit of a beast!!
Superb views out to sea on the back 9 and a refreshing few drinks in the clubhouse that overlooks the course again with some stunning views. The scene out to Croagh Patrick is a great sight to be scene as you play up the par 3 15th.
So well looked after by all the staff and a course that I can thoroughly recommend to play if you ever end up in that area.

I played the Edinburgh course at Wentworth recently. The clubhouse was as expected . . Immaculate. Had a nice lunch in there before hitting the driving range to warm up. All free practice balls and with latest technology to allow you to assess your ball striking.

Superb course

Played here as part of a works conference. What a gem this course is. Beautiful layout and lush fairways and fantastic greens. You need to manage your way round the course as it is very challenging with tight fairways in some places. You do not need to use the driver on most of the holes. Position is best and the more you keep it on the fairway off the tee the better you will score. Position is everything on here.

Great practice facilities so use an hour before teeing off to warm up. Well worth it.

Great clubhouse and very friendly staff throughout.

Definitely would love to come back here and play again. An absolute gem of a course.

Great course

Played the Addington today. Nice character clubhouse and friendly staff. used a free voucher to play a course which is usually about £60/70 a round. A lot of work is happening at the course so a lot of plant around doing some work. However it didn’t put us off. Great course and some very challenging holes. Loads of run and bounce off the fairways at this time of year. A bit of undulation to deal with and a few blind holes when driving off the tee box. Great views of London from high vantage points.

Definitely one to play in this area . . .even better when you get to play it for nothing!!

Tough track in the rain!!!

Our first day of 5 golf rounds and we played this course. Have played it before and scored 47 points last year with a hired set of clubs!! Not to be this year. The weather closed in and we had to take shelter after 9 holes and the most almighty thunder and lightning storm hit us. Managed to sit it out for 30 minutes and then we were able to complete our round. A lot of undulations but that made it even more interesting.

The halfway refreshment hut is a great spot - mainly because the young girl who works in it is so beautiful and friendly. Always smiling. . . .even during the thunder storm!!

Great clubhouse again with friendly staff and superb views from it overlooking the course and out to sea.

Definitely worth a visit.

Played here on the last day of our 5 round golfing holiday. Played it before but forgot how hard a course it was. Very tight in many places which reflected on the scores coming in!! Played at West Sussex today and I have to say that it is one of the best courses I have played. The clubhouse is very welcoming, great practice facilities in front of the clubhouse . . .and then as for the course . . .well it is superb. Lush firm fairways and great greens. Plenty of heather to stay away from. A real challenge. An absolute joy to play.

Superb course!! A must play.

Played a match here yesterday and it was just superb. This is one of the most prestigious courses in the area. It has 2 courses the red and the blue. I played the blue with an opening par 3 of 210 yards!! In front of the clubhouse!! Landed the ball 20 ft from the hole!! pressure was off!! A fantastic course which is really challenging with some extremely long par 4s!! So well manicured around the course. great little halfway hut for refreshments and then a nice bar to have a post match drink.

Overall I would recommend playing this course and have it up near the top of your must play list. Will definitely be back to play it again.

A bit boggy!!!

Played a match here recently. On arrival the clubhouse and facilities are great. Very welcoming. The clubhouse is also shared with the sports club and spa and it is a busy place on a Saturday morning.

There had been a lot of rain over the previous 24 hours and in fact they had to close the course the day before we played it. Needless to say the course was extremely boggy in a lot of areas. We lost several balls that had been hit into the fairways . . They simply disappeared underground!!

Had a nice bite to eat in the sunshine outside the clubhouse once we finished our round.

I would like to come back and play the course again when it has dried out as it is a nice layout and a great challenge.

Challenging course!

I have played Surbiton a few times now and it is always a tough track. There is a lot of work taking place at present and a number of trees are being uprooted and moved. However this does not detract from a great course that catches you out in many places. The greens had been sanded but were still very quick.

Once it dries out and the work has been finished this will be a great course and one I would fully recommend.

Cost me £25 green fee with a member.

Played the Army course today for the first time in a while. Many changes which are all for the good. New bunkers and a lot of brambles and trees been removed. Once the better weather kicks in and the course starts to mature it will be back to its best. A hard test and with several new bunkers makes it even harder to get round.

Definitely worth a visit . . .great breakfast before you go out and very reasonably priced.

Nice dry track!!

Played in a matchplay event at Banstead GC on the 29 December. A great little course which because it lies on chalk was considerably dry after the amount of rain we had previous days. Makes it a great course in the winter. Very challenging and some long holes to test you off the white tees.
Just need to be careful crossing the main road that directs the course . . You have to cross it twice.
Nice clubhouse and a good atmosphere in there.
Just a shame that they charged us £35.00 which both I and my playing partner along with our hosts felt was a bit steep. Normally you would expect a reduction or even courtesy for the match . . . If I host someone at my club and they get charged a green fee, I always pay half of it.
I would recommend playing Banstead as it dries out so well . . . . But wait until you can get a deal from a golf booking agency.

Just spent the last 2 days on a golf break at Prince’s GC.

We stayed at the Lodge which is adjacent to one of the holes and a short drive to the clubhouse.
Friendly staff who served great food and also in the pro shop where we were given free yardage books as part of the green fee.

Yes it is an expensive pay and play course - there are no members at this club! But you pay for what you get. Free yardage books, tees, drinks on the first tee.
The course for this time of the year is in absolute superb condition. The fairways are like carpets and the greens are excellent. The upkeep of the course is fantastic and it is an absolute pleasure to play on. Really interesting layout and some great holes.
I would definitely come back here to play when I have saved up a few quid!!

One of the best on the Algarve

I have played this course many times and it is one of if not my favourite course on the Algarve. Everything about it oozes class and age. The clubhouse is old school and adds to the ambience of the course.

Some excellent views over the course and some daunting Par 3 shots looking down onto the greens. The layout and condition of the whole course is superb. It is one of the most enjoyable courses to play on the Algarve. No need for a buggy if you can walk it.

Nice to unwind with a beer in the clubhouse after your round knowing that it is only 5 minutes back to your hotel in Vilamoura.

Superb course!!

Played here on the 27 October in the semi final of the Guards Golf Society Captains Prize. My host has been a member at RSGs for many years . . .so I had a free round . . .which was the best bonus ever considering that it can be over £200 to play this Open Championship course if I had have just rocked up!

The clubhouse is amazing and has all sorts of memorabilia on show, but you have to be in a shirt and tie to get into the clubhouse after 1100 . . . .luckily I was told about this so I was correctly dressed.

A superb hot roast beef sandwich and chips plus a drink before we headed out on the course . . .and quite cheap considering were we where. I was expecting it to be a lot more.

The course is just superb . . .fairways immaculate and greens so true. Some great views around the course. Iconic holes that we have all seen during last years Open Championship. Such a great feeling playing the course yesterday. I will definitely be back to play it . . .but check to see if you can get any offers between November and March. Seen you may get it for £65 for 18 holes next month which would be superb.

A course yardage book is £9 and quite detailed!!

A must play course if you ever get the chance. To walk in the footsteps of the greats is one incentive to hack your way round!!

Tidy course

Played at Royal Ascot today for the first time. Nice clubhouse and a good atmosphere all round. A fairly flat course but quite challenging especially into a prevailing wind on a lot of the holes. A lot of out of bounds on some of the holes so you need to accurate off the tee box. A big difference between the white tee boxes and the yellows on some holes which makes a huge difference to your scorecard.

I would love to come back and play it again now that I have been round it once. An easy walk as it is so flat. Nice food and a drink in the clubhouse afterwards. All in all a nice day on the course . . . Just wish I could have played better!!! Always next time.

Great track!!

Had a corporate day here last week. Arrived and had a full cooked breakfast which was superb. Then headed out to play the course. A cracking track and no 2 holes the same. Very challenging indeed. Nice halfway hut for teas etc which were very much needed as the weather was horrendous.

Had a superb 2 course meal after the golf and the service was great.

Overall we spent £85 each for the day but it was well worth it. Thoroughly recommend a round at this course.

Great wee course

Played in the final of the TSG Matchplay today at Farleigh. Have to say that I was well impressed with the quality of the course. Good vibe in the clubhouse and well looked after.

Greens were in excellent condition and overall it was a pleasure to play there today. Will definitely go back for another round sometime soon.

Great course . . . .flat!!

A great round of golf on a very flat course. Very challenging in all areas but the best thing of all were the greens. They are the best I have played on all year. Great track and a great clubhouse for a beer afterwards. Definitely worth a visit if you get the chance. Not sure of the price of a green fee as I was on a courtesy round as playing in a competition, but probably worth every penny.

2014 Ryder Cup Course

Got a free round on the Ryder Cup course here at Gleneagles this morning. Played off the yellow tees which were challenging enough!! Weather as you would expect up here was not the best and it got considerably worse on the back nine!! The Gleneagles Hotel complex is just superb. 5 star all the way. Practice facilities with free balls to warm up with, then free course guides, tees, markers and pitch repair tools. The course just oozes quality the whole way round and to be honest whenever I stood on the yellow tees I always looked back to see where the pros played from in 2014!! Unreal the difference.

Shame the weather dampened the round but overall it was a pleasure to be given the opportunity to play this magnificent course. If you ever get the chance you have to play here.

Be warned a buggy costs £55, electric trolley is £27.50. An the average polo shirt in the pro shop is about £90!!

Not cheap but worth it.

Great course in superb condition

Played here for the Guards against the members of Denham. Great course in superb condition. Really lush and green. The recent rain had obviously helped. Great layout and very challenging. A very well established clubhouse and very quirky. Had a carvery lunch which was excellent. I thoroughly recommend a round here and sample their food. First class.

A windy challenge!!

Nice atmosphere in the clubhouse and very friendly staff. As for the course . . Great layout and a number of very challenging holes. Very windy today which made you think before each shot. Firm greens which ran true. You can really open up the shoulders and go for serious long drives off the tee.

As for value for money . . .superb as the manager is a very good friend of mine!!!

Will be back to play it again when hopefully the wind will have subsided a bit.

Definitely worth the trip to play there.

Pines is long!!!

Just returned from a weeks golfing trip in Turkey and played both the Sueno Pines and Dunes courses on site. Great courses and in great condition . . .but the Pines is a very long course at over 6000m off the yellows!!! A great test of golf and plenty of water to lose balls in!! All inclusive clubhouse so all meals and drinks for free. Final round took over 5 and a half hours which was a slog . . . .but if you really need a test of your golfing skill then these 2 courses are ideal. Par 3s at 249 yards makes you think!! A couple of par 5s which are close to 600 yards with traps and tress all over the place. It pays to be straight around these courses. A par 3 180 yards over a lake which you have to carry or you are swimming!!

A testing course!!

I have played Westerham GC many times since I joined it last September. As you arrive you can tell that you are in for a treat as the views coming down the 9th and 18th holes with the water features and fountains make it look special.

The practice facilities are great with a driving range, and a short game area , plus if you feel the need there is a short Par 3 course that you can go and establish your short game on a course.

As for the main course. . . It is a gem. I would say that you need to manage your round well around the course and you do not always need the driver for the par 4s and par 5s. Very testing in parts and you have to navigate a few water features on the way round. Some really tight drives so straightness off the tee box is essential on some holes. Two cracking par 3s at 11 and 13 will test your accuracy and distance as they both measure around 175 yards each. Coming down the 18th fairway towards the clubhouse is a view to behold and makes for a very exciting finishing hole over the lake to a difficult pin position.

The clubhouse provides excellent food and beverages and sitting out on the terrace on a sunny day watching others finish their round is a pleasant way to spend an hour or so after your round.

If anyone would like to play I should be able to get a discount rate for guests using some of my vouchers. let me check and if anyone fancies it then let me know. You will not be disappointed.

Regards

John

Great course

Played here in my first round Matchplay event. What a course. Great facilities and the course was in superb condition. Lovely par 3 finishing hole overlooked by the terrace of the clubhouse . . .which provided a great view for all those having an after round beer . . . .as I chipped in from the bunker for a 2!! A bit expensive but 2 fantastic courses at this location. If you get the chance to play you must.

VALUE FOR MONEY!!

Played here twice over the weekend on a Your Golf Travel deal. Only £69 for 2 rounds , dinner bed and breakfast. Great craic and the course was okay to be honest. Tricky enough in places and a good test of golf. Greens a wee bit woolly but may not have had the green staff to keep cutting them. Friendly staff all round and a nice dinner and beers in the evening. Rooms were big with 2 x double beds in each one. Hotel a wee bit dated and in need of some TLC but for that money you cannot complain. Had an issue with tee times but it was all sorted out and staff in the pro shop were great. Nice way to have a friendly rounds or two with my mates.

Enjoyable round.

A pleasant round of golf here yesterday. Nice undulating course with some great views looking over the holes. Would need to play it again as some blind holes where you only need a short iron to keep you in play instead of a driver etc. Nice facilities and welcoming staff. Would play it again.

Great course

Played here yesterday. Great course although it did take nearly 5 hours to get round. Some superb holes and you need to manage your way round some of the holes. Great facilities and always nice to prepare for the round with bacon rolls and cups of tea!! Drinks buggy was a welcome relief halfway round. Great deals to be had at this place. Will definately be back to play again.

Great course . . .tough at times!!

Played here last night and thoroughly enjoyed the Course. Some really tough holes with no space for error!!. Greens were immaculate. Best I’ve played on recently. I was a guest of Golf Travel Centre so FOC on the green fee. So well looked after. Nice beer to finish off the round. Great setting and a very jovial and friendly club. Will definately be bac.

Dont rush!!!

Played here yesterday. I always believe in customer service and having a nice feel about a club . . . . .so to be met by the grumpiest starter ever in the starters hut did not get off to a good impression. I soon picked up that other members of his own staff know that he is a miserable individual!! nevertheless we soldiered on. Finally got out on the course . . .after being told that I would have to delay as the 2 ball supposed to be in front of me was late due to traffic!! Not my problem Mr Misery!!

Course is a bit worn in places and some of the tee boxes are ridiculous. Teeing up on not much grass! Otherwise the course was pleasant as I had not applied it for a few years. Some great challenging holes .. some very similar holes but overall a nice track.

However the pace of play was abysmal!! It really did put me off going back there. A number of group behind my 3 ball sacked it and walked in!!

It has a superb driving range and more people seem to go for that plus the 60% off outlet store on the top of the the complex is fantastic. i could spend a fortune in there.

Will probably go back but will try and miss Mr Miserable and try and get round in a decent time!!

In superb condition!!

Played here last week and I was lucky as they had set the course up for the Pro Am the following day so it was immaculate. Even got to chat to Colin Montgomerie for 5 minutes before he teed off!! Nothing bad to say about the course as it was perfect. Even had a beer in the Pro shop afterwards as it was a scorching hot day!! A beautiful course that I have played many times. A must play course if you are in the area.

Worth a round!!

Got a great deal on the green fee . . . Military rate!! Lovely looking course and many challenging holes. However stuck behind a 3 ball which was stuck behind a 4 ball so the pace was really poor. Be better to play at a steady pace. At one stage there were 4 group on one hole!! Not good. But will definately be back as it is a lovely course . . .at a great price.

It’s okays

An average course to be honest. Decent enough layout but some of the holes seem pointless to the average golfer. The 8th hole in my opinion is a joke hole. A nice drive is rewarded with either a large wedge over 5 extremely tall oak trees or try and punch under. Just seemed pointless. A lot of the holes on the front 9 have large run offs to the left due to the very sloping fairways being on a hill. There is so much long grass just off the fairways that you spend half the round looking for balls! Even if you just run into the grass you can more or less say goodbye to your ball! Saying that I found more than I lost.
Will play it again as my mate is a member but I won’t rush back. Better courses charging a bit less in the area to play.

It’s okay!!

Played at Bletchingley Golf Club yesterday and I was really looking forward to it.

Was very busy when we arrived but managed to get off early.

First time playing here and to be honest it was okay...nothing special.

A typical pay and play which I feel has been overused and overplayed. The tee boxes did not exist. Very poor. Fairways were fine but greens were very woolly and slow.

They need cut and rolled to provide a better surface to putt on.

Nice layout and some great holes. A tough test of golf with a few blind holes to navigate.

Saying that they are offering a 3-month trial membership deal for £275.

Plus you can play at several other courses free of charge in the area.

Looked these up and some of them are top-notch.

Maybe worth the investment to play here more often and get a couple of rounds at these other top courses.

Played here last Wednesday and I have played this course many times. Very quick to get round as no hold ups or waiting on the players in front . . . .2 hours 45 mins . .well happy!! In good condition although fairways are a bit scorched and bunkers are unplayable!! But definately worth a look.

Worth a visit!

Played Surrey National last Sunday evening. Able to get out an hour before our scheduled tee off time and thank heavens we did as we would not have got round in daylight if we had gone out at 1800. Very slow play having to wait 5 to 10 minutes to tee off on the majority of holes. Took around 4 hours 10 minutes for a 2 ball!!

Course was in good shape and enjoyed the course. Definately worth a visit. Would go back and play there again. £25 after 5pm so fair value for money.

Needs a bit of TLC!

Played Gatton Manor last week with TSG and to be honest I was expecting a lot better than it actually was. The grass had been cut but all the cuttings had been left on the course so if your ball rolled off the fairway then it took forever trying to find as nearly every time it was hidden under a clump of cut grass. Also some of the tee boxes where a shambles. There just seemed to be a bit of a “couldn’t care less” attitude towards the upkeep of the course which is a shame as I think it could be a great little track if more care was taken over its maintenance. Was it worth the money? Sadly not this time.
